How I said F* YOU to anxiety:
Anxiety is something that I’ve dealt with my entire life. There were many nights when I woke up with panic attacks, it crippled my ability to do anything, and it almost always made me doubt my self-worth.
Then, I came across an article written by Tim Ferris where he shared his struggles with anxiety and how he got rid of it. The process seemed simple enough, so I gave it a shot and have been using it every single day since.
It’s made such a positive difference for me, and I wanted to share it with you in case it helps.
Here’s the 3 Step Process:
Step 1: Each morning I recognize and write down the top 3 things that are causing me anxiety.
Step 2: I go down the list and ask myself (for each one): Is there anything I can do about this?
Step 3: If the answer is ‘yes’, I write down the action-items I can perform to chip away at it, prioritize those action items — and then chip away accordingly. If the answer is, ‘no’, I say “bye Felicia” — and make a conscious decision to forget about it.
NOTE:
If you’re thinking this is too simple… I thought the Same. Exact. Thing. (at first)
What I’ve learned since implementing this daily —
There is typically 2 reasons why I get anxious:
Reason 1: Inaction On My Part
I’ve been putting something off for too long and:
(a) the work is piling up physically
(b) and it’s piling up in my head
Reason 2: Worst Case Scenario Syndrome
I found that I’m usually worried about:
(a) an outcome that I can’t control and
(b) the worst case scenario outcome
How this Process Changed My Life:
It’s allowed me to:

3. Realize that the worst-case scenario is not the only-case scenario
Something that Katie and I are thinking about:
